Caribbean Fine Art Exhibit & Awards

Opening reception for exhibit in Broward, FL at the Island Space Museum.

Claudia received the Star Beacon Award from Le P'ti club celebrating their 19 year anniversary.

Philippe W. Dodard Jean-Jacques Stephen Alexis were also recognized for their artistic contributions.

Special speaker, Mayor Wayne M Messam along with the Consul General of Haiti to Miami.

Ayiti Community Trust Annual Gala – Byen Chèlbè

This event was to raise awareness and funds for Haiti and to honor Haitians in the fashion industry.

Claudia was highlighted and honored as one of the top Haitian fashion designers along with 15 other designers such as Stella Jean, Pascal Theard and Jean Ralph Turin. She had her wearable art pieces on exhibited that night.

Renaissance at Galerie Trois Visages

18 December 2020 | Port-au-Prince, Haiti

Galerie Le Studio’s annual December art experience was held at Galerie Trois Visages for a weeklong show opening on December 18th, 2020. The show's concept named” Renaissance" touched upon adversity and growth. The showcased artists were Claudia Apaid, Mario Benjamin, Yael Talleyrand, Mister George, Maxim Laroche and Phaidra Sterlin.

Dispersed at MUCE | 2020

December 3-6, 2020 | Miami, FL

The Miami Urban Contemporary Experience (MUCE) showcases a multiverse of visual & performing artists in the art exhibition DISPERSED, premiering at the 5th annual MUCE Arts & Culture Festival. In collaboration with MUCE EDUCATES and with support from the GMCVB Art of Black Miami, MUCE Arts & Culture Festival occurs during the highly anticipated Miami Art Week & former Art Basel weekend, December 3-6, 2020 at the MUCE Campus.

The Dispersed art exhibition invites art lovers to dive into a mythological journey to the center of the universe where Black Gods (Orishas), mermaids, and the ancestors await their return. An artistic reverence to the lost souls at sea and the strange fruit of poplar trees; this exhibit is an astounding celebration of Black excellence & resilience. Dispersed is a visual gift from the ancestors curated by Bart Mervil. The exhibition features visual artists: Annick Duvivier, Sona, Nate Dee, Carla Jamieson and Claudia Apaid. During the opening reception guests will enjoy performances by: Lucner Bruno, Randolph Ward, CC Glitzer, Ja’Nia Harden, Ricky Danco Dance Ensemble, and Afro-Mermaid.

Pop Up at RF Orchids | 2019

December 14-15, 2019 | RF Orchids - Homestead, Florida

R.F. Orchids is South Florida's oldest and largest orchid nursery. It is a lush, tropical nursery specializing in flowering orchids, including exotics & rare hybrids.

Claudia was able to showcase her Orchids series of artwork with a pop up exhibition right in the middle of this magical garden.

Art Basel Impact Soiree | Aston Martin | 2019

December 7, 2019 | Aston Martin Residences - Miami, Florida

This impact soiree was held aboard the Superyacht Miss Moneypenny V during Miami’s world-renowned Art Basel weekend to benefit Hope For Haiti.

Attendees were encouraged to wear gold accents in honor of Queen Anacaona whose name means golden flower in native Taino. Anacaona is a long-time revered Taino warrior chief of the Island of Haiti and is one of the most powerful chiefs known in history to the Island and is memorialized as a martyr for freedom.

Art Beat Miami @ The Haitian Cultural Center | 2019

Art Beat Miami, is an annual satellite art fair presented by Little Haiti Optimist Club, Northeast Second Avenue Partnership (NE2P) and Welcome to Little Haiti, showcasing emerging and renowned artists from Haiti and around the world.

Nestled in the heart of Downtown Little Haiti, Art Beat Miami features emerging and renowned artists, painters, sculptors, art exhibits, murals, performers and musicians. The festival brings together multidisciplinary artists working in collaboration to highlight the culturally rich and diverse creativity of local artists and the Caribbean Diaspora here and beyond.

Art Beat Miami is produced by Marie Louissaint and Joann Milord and curated by Pulitzer Prize winning Miami Herald Photojournalist Carl Juste.

Art Beat Miami is an experience of art, cultural, exchange, food, fashion and music inspired by Haiti and artists worldwide. During Art Basel Week, the Little Haiti Community invites visitors to discover multidisciplinary works of art by internationally recognized artists at the Caribbean Marketplace of the Little Haiti Cultural Center. Enjoy live music, food, mural exhibitions, fashion shows, special events, and conversations with artists.

Wynwood International Art Festival | 2019

Swiss Art Expo | 2019

August 15-19, 2019 | Zurich, Switzerland

SWISSARTEXPO invited a number of talented and up-and-coming artists the opportunity to present their original works in a large exhibition. The exhibition took place from 15 to 19 August 2019 in the SBB Event Hall, inside Zurich's main railway station next to the oversized sculpture "Nana" by Niki de St.Phalle. With over 80,000 visitors daily, it is one of the most visited halls in Europe.

City of Miami-Dade Haitian Heritage Art Exhibit | 2019

May 1-31, 2019 | Stephen P. Clark Government Center - Miami, Florida

In honor of Haitian Heritage month, Miami Dade Commissioner, Jean Monestime spearheaded an art exhibit celebrating Haitian culture in the city of miami. 

For the duration of the month of May, Apaid was invited to exhibit some her works at the Stephen P. Clark Government center where an average of 4000 people traffic a day. 

In a ceremony by the board of county commissioners, she was also honored for her artistic contributions to the city of Miami.

City of North Miami Haitian Heritage Month | 2019

May 1-31, 2019 | North Miami, Florida

The city of North Miami Florida celebrated Haitian Heritage month and invited Apaid to exhibit some of her works on the mayor’s floor in North Miami’s City Hall for the month of May.

A kick off celebration organized by Mayor Smith Joseph, reflected on Haitian history, culture and pride. 

Apaid inaugurated her exhibit alongside city officials and the mayor at the event.

Ayiti Community Trust | Gala Kanaval | 2019

February 2, 2019 | Fontainebleau Hotel - Miami Beach, Florida

Kanaval in Ayiti, is a vibrant and cultural expression of music and dance. In honor of the beauty that remains in our beloved Ayiti, the Ayiti Community Trust (A.C.T.) was pleased to present their inaugural ball, Gala Kanaval.

The evening honored iconic figures such as best selling author, Edwidge Danticat, and entrepreneur, Marc Alain Boucicault. Musical guests featured Tabou Combo, who were celebrating 50 years of artistry. The evening included a silent auction of works from artists such as Edouard Duval-Carrié, Carl Juste, Valerie Pompee, Claudia Apaid and many more.

Art Beat Miami @ Haitian Cultural Center | 2018

December 5-9, 2018 | Little Haiti Cultural Center - Miami, Florida

ART BEAT MIAMI celebrated its 5th year anniversary at the iconic Caribbean Marketplace in Little Haiti with its annual Art Fair showcasing the works of more than 30 emerging and renowned local, international and celebrity artists. 

ART BEAT MIAMI opened on Wednesday, December 5th, with an Opening Reception/Preview Party celebrating a one of a kind experience of visual art, music and food inspired by the people and culture of the Caribbean featuring a musical performace by J.Perry. 

The ART BEAT MIAMI Art Fair featured musical performances, live art, conversations with artists and food.

Art Basel 2018 Re-Envision Pop Up Gallery

December 6-8, 2018 | Fontainebleau Hotel - Miami Beach, Florida

Re-Envision Magazine announced the launch of their premiere issue December 6 -8, 2018 at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach during Art Basel Weekend. With a glimpse of Alice in Wonderland in her 30's and 'red queen' vs 'white queen' motif, an artist showcase included pieces from some of the most ground-breaking artists around the United States.

Toast Vodka and Re-Envision Magazine hosted the special VIP Art Experience geared to showcase prolific artists in the magazine's premiere issue of the annual art coffee-table-book sized book.  Among the featured artists were: Carlos Mare (Sculptor of the BET award); legend, Adam Scott Rote; Bill Mack; Peter Max; Gary Welton; Dwyane Wade; Donna Isham; Marcus Suarez; Yella; David Banegas; Leon Alva; Guillermo Opuesto; Alejandra Estefania; Uncutt Art; Bankrupt; Art Laurea; Mojo; Courtney Einhorn; Luis Valle; Claudia Apaid and More.

Pop Up @ El Rancho
